Our trough idler conveyors transport loose bulk materials with minimal spillage. Each conveyor is engineered and made in the USA.

Maximize throughput and reduce spillage with trough idler conveyors engineered for safe, reliable bulk material transport in demanding environments. Angled troughing idlers bend the belt into a U-shape that pulls material toward the center, containing small, loose, dusty, or wet loads across long horizontal runs.

We also manufacture trough slider bed conveyors for light-duty bulk material handling.
Reliable conveyor solutions for fast, safe, and consistent package handling operations.

Sized to your layout and package envelope
We combine advanced engineering and high-quality materials to build each trough belt conveyor for durability and long-term performance.

Every trough idler conveyor is built from heavy structural steel and finished to survive abrasive, high-tonnage duty. ASTM A36 framing, 3/16-inch wall rectangular tubing, and 1/4-inch formed steel pan sides are MIG-welded with Grade 8 hardware and 10-gauge gusset plates, then sandblasted and powder-coated for corrosion resistance.

Engineered beyond industry standards
Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association standards for alignment tolerances, belt ratings, bearing selection, guarding, and installation.
Workplace safety requirements for guarding, lockout/tagout, and operation.
National safety standard for conveyors and related equipment.
International standards for conveyor belts, safety, and quality management.

We design and build custom control systems for your trough idler conveyor, including start sequencing, belt scale integration, and overload protection. The control panel houses the hardware, while the control system programming handles the logic, including totalization from any installed weighing instrumentation.
Our panels are built to UL 508A specifications, comply with TÜV standards, and are individually certified. Fluent Conveyors does not hold UL 508A certification as a company.

We supply four roller chain belt types in standard widths of 36, 48, 60, 72, 84, and 96 inches, with custom widths reaching 120 inches.
Rubber combo belts with steel crossbars for durability and strength, in 220-ply and 330-ply options.
Best for bulk recyclables and trash, wet organic waste and mixed cement, and aggregates such as gravel, coal, and rock.
For abrasion, heat, fire, oil, chemical, or anti-static requirements, see our industrial belts. We also carry accessories for roller chain belt conveyors, including cleats, side skirts, training idlers, and belt scrapers.

Choose from pulley-driven and sprocket-driven conveyors, including roller chain conveyors, flat idler conveyors, trough idler conveyors, slider bed conveyors, and recycling sort stations. Not sure which type fits your application? Contact our engineering team, and we will help you determine the right starting point.

Combine trough idler conveyors with feeding, sorting, baler infeed, and transport equipment into one integrated line. We handle the engineering, controls, and integration across every transfer point.

Configure the frame, belt, drive, and controls of a single trough idler conveyor to match your material, layout, and tonnage targets. Adjust width, length, troughing angle, drive power, components, safety devices, and finish.
