Conveyor standards and compliance

Fluent is a CEMA member. The association's standards govern belt conveyor capacity, idler and pulley classification, component load ratings, and installation practice, and they are the reference point for most capacity figures we quote.

Our conveyors are designed and built to conform to ANSI/ASME B20.1, the consensus safety standard for conveyors and related equipment. It drives guarding, nip point protection, emergency stop placement, and warning labeling on every unit that leaves our floor.

OSHA is a regulator. This page covers the machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and walking-working surface requirements that apply once a conveyor is installed in your facility.

Fluent holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certification. You can also find technical design and specification documents related to ISO standards we build to conform with.

Our control panels are built to UL 508A specifications and individually certified. Fluent as a company does not hold UL 508A certification.

TÜV certification covers electrical construction on panels destined for markets that recognize it. TÜV and UL 508A are companion paths rather than alternatives, and which one applies depends on where the equipment is installed.
