Hägglunds began as Hägglund & Söner, founded in 1899 in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. Its drive systems business became a recognized leader in hydraulic motors and later joined Bosch Rexroth, part of the Robert Bosch group, which continues to manufacture the Hägglunds brand in Örnsköldsvik.
