for chevron cleated belts

Record the chevron type (open-V, closed-V, bullhorn, or multi-chevron), rib height, rib width, rib spacing, chevron angle, and whether the ribs are molded in or attached. Pattern drives the choice between a finger cleaner that deflects around ribs and a rotary or brush cleaner that works through them.

Record belt width, belt speed, belt construction, cover material, running direction, and splice type. Confirm whether the belt reverses, since a reversing belt narrows the mechanism options.

Record the conveyed material, particle size, moisture, oil or grease, adhesiveness, operating temperature, and any stringy or fibrous content. Dry, loose carryback releases with a rotary action; sticky material may call for a spray-assisted approach.

Record head-pulley clearance, return-side clearance, chute access, cleaner service access, and available power. Confirm there is room to replace fingers, rings, and tensioners without pulling large sections of guarding.

Define the application: bulk carryback removal, fine-particle removal, reduced floor cleanup, reduced belt wear, product recovery, or protection of return idlers. The target sets how aggressive the mechanism needs to be and whether a second cleaner is worthwhile.
