Tumble-back conveyors deliver a controlled feed of materials into balers for compaction. They use steep inclines (up to 60 degrees), cross-belt cleats, and gravity to meter the flow of materials into the baler. Roller chain conveyors are the most common tumble-back metering conveyors.
Roller chain conveyors are driven by heavy-duty sprockets. They are known for their high torque, rugged construction, and versatile belt options. Sprocket-driven conveyors resist belt slip and maintain positive drive under heavy loads.
Roller chain conveyors usually use metal belts that can withstand constant impact and abrasive materials. Hinged steel belts and rubber combination belts are the most versatile roller chain belts for baler infeed conveyors.

Slider bed and flat idler conveyors also commonly perform baler infeed functions.

Are pulley driven. They support the belt with a series of idlers, which distribute weight evenly for high-volume, heavy-load conveyance. Their belts have cleats and sidewalls for metering and feeding balers.
Support the belt with a smooth, flat slider bed. They are the most cost-effective solution for short-distance transfers between equipment. Slider bed conveyors are less expensive and have lower maintenance costs. They are good for feeding lightweight or low-volume materials into baling equipment.
We carry several popular conveyor belt replacements for efficient plastic recycling:
Attach to roller chain conveyors. They combine steel and rubber components to produce a more economical belt that effectively processes plastics. Rubber cleats are added for tumble-back metering and inclined baler infeed.

Materials are baled for storage and transportation. Efficient baling procedures prevent operational bottlenecks and improve safety. Here’s how conveyors help:
Conveyors form the backbone of the recycling industry and other industries that use balers.
The following items are commonly baled in the recycling industry and beyond:
