The best heavy-duty conveyor belts are made of thick, durable, and specialized materials to adapt to specific application requirements
Heavy-duty belts include:
Metal belts (for roller chain conveyors)
4-ply rubber conveyor belts
Belts made with condition-resistant compounds and materials
Integrally molded belts
Some of these categories overlap; a rubber belt could have four plies and a flame-resistant cover with integrally molded cleats.
Let’s take a deeper look at the best heavy-duty belts for conveyors.

Roller chain conveyors use sprocket drives to produce exceptional torque and prevent belt slippage. They can be equipped with heavy-duty modular belts made of metal, as well as a rubber-metal combination belt.
Rubber belts have an internal carcass made of fabric plies. The plies are made of natural or synthetic fibers and sometimes contain steel reinforcement. Belts with more plies have increased tensile strength, load capacity, durability, and thickness. Our heaviest-duty rubber belts are 4-ply.
4-ply belts take on the toughest jobs, such as handling scrap metal and automotive components, moving bulk materials long distances, and withstanding heavy impact, abrasion, extreme temperatures, oil, and chemicals.
Rubber covers can be applied in different thicknesses to resist impact and abrasions, and they can be composed of specialty compounds for resisting oil, chemicals, heat, fire, and static.

Some industrial conveyor belts are made from special synthetic rubber compounds and reinforcing materials to withstand challenging environments and materials. Heavy-duty belts can also contain special carcass constructions to withstand impact and resist tearing.
Integrally molded belts are injection-molded from a single piece of rubber. Belt features, such as cleats or sidewalls, are molded directly into the cover, improving the strength and abrasion resistance of the belt. Integrally molded belts are often used at material recovery facilities, concrete plants, and mines.
We also carry integrally molded belts for the following material-handling applications:
