Rubber conveyor belts are made of strong fabric plies coated in a durable rubber compound.
They are the most common type of conveyor belt due to their cost effectiveness (compared to metal belts) and highly specialized designs. Rubber belts are categorized by:
Number of fabric plies
Chemical composition of the covers
Additional features (cleats, perforations, etc.)
Many rubber belts will combine these categories. For example, a recycling center might use a 4-ply cleated belt with an abrasion-resistant cover to move bulk materials between processes.
Let’s look at the main types of rubber conveyor belts, classified by their fabric plies, conveyor belt material, and special features.

Rubber belts have an internal carcass made of fabric plies. The plies are made of natural or synthetic fibers and sometimes contain steel reinforcement. Belts with more plies have increased tensile strength, load capacity, durability, and thickness. We carry belts with the following ply counts:

The rubber covers can be applied in different thicknesses to resist impact and abrasions, and they can be comprised of specialty compounds for resisting oil, chemicals, heat, fire, and static.

Some industrial conveyor belts are made from special synthetic rubber compounds and reinforcing materials to withstand challenging environments and materials.
Rubber conveyor belts are also categorized by special features and constructions.
Corrugated sidewall conveyor belts trap materials on the belt. They effectively partition and convey loose bulk materials, powders, and liquids.

Our rubber combination conveyor belts go with our roller chain conveyors. The belt is mounted to roller chains that span the conveyor.
Rubber combination belts combine the high-torque no-slip advantages of roller chain conveyors with the flexibility and relative cost efficiency of rubber (compared to metal belts). These types of conveyor belts haul heavy loads of recyclables, aggregates, and bulk materials.
